Our client is looking for a Laser Photonics Engineer to work in the design, manufacture, assembly and alignment of custom pulsed lasers and of larger digital holography systems and digital holographic HOE printers in which such lasers form a critical component. The successful candidate should be energetic and willing to learn quickly. Ideally he/she should have MSc or PhD in experimental laser physics and may have worked in academia/industry for some period after finishing. Experience: You will have some hands-on experience and a basic familiarity with nanosecond pulsed Neodymium (YAG, YLF or YAP) lasers including non-linear conversion using materials such as KTP, DKDP, BBO or LBO is essential. Experience with lamp-pumped SLM Q-switched systems as well as a good understanding of how these systems work and are designed is strongly desirable. Experience with techniques such as injection seeding, EO Q-switching, SBS phase conjugation, Brillouin pulse compression or SRS would also be an advantage. Experience with other materials such as Cr: Forserite or Tm:YAG would likewise be an advantage. Most importantly you must have a natural ability for meticulous and accurate work. The candidate should enjoy working in a challenging environment where scientific research is required to translate into utilizable solutions.
